Motorcycle Union Making a Difference in the Lives of Many

3Nails Motorcycle Union is building a special custom old school bobber that will be given away to a contributor who gives a tax-deductible donation to Renovation House, an alcohol and substance abuse rehabilitation and renewing program that has been “renovating” the lives of men for over 25 years; Renovation House has two facilities-- one is located in Perth Amboy, N.J. and the other is in Spencer, N.Y.

“The birth of the 3Nails motorcycle brand grew out of a team of men consisting of pastors, executives and business owners that wanted to volunteer their time, talent and treasure (money) to fund the Renovation House program,” explains Gary Capone, who is part of a volunteer group that has been dubbed the “Dream Team.”

The “Dream Team” has been involved in supporting Renovation House for six to seven years, and the 3Nails Motorcycle Brand is the team’s latest idea that was created to help raise funds and awareness for the charitable cause; in the past, a variety of events like golf tournaments and dinners were held to support the rehabilitation program.

The group of volunteers meets several times each year to discuss the progress of existing programs and to develop new, creative ideas and events that will continue to raise the funds needed to keep Renovation House equipped with the resources they need.

One of the new and creative ideas that were born out of a brainstorming session was the 3Nails Motorcycle Union Brand and Company.Several members of the group are motorcycle enthusiasts. And, with the knowledge of the close-knit bonds within the motorcycle community— and how bikers rally around charitable causes in great numbers— the 3Nails project seemed like a great way to bring awareness to the group’s cause.

Volunteers immediately went to work to develop the brand identity, motorcycles and apparel line to back it all up; they incorporated the bloodline theme used by Renovation House: where men arrive “all banged up” but leave “restored.” At the heart of the 3Nails team are men that are passionate about building motorcycles and equally passionate about building men’s lives from a banged up and broken pool of parts found at a swap meet, to a powerful, shiny, heart-pounding machine, ready to take on the new road and all that it can throw at them.

3Nails offers vintage style custom old school bobbers and choppers to the most discriminating of two-wheel aficionados. The motorcycles resemble 1940's and 50's style bobbers and choppers that could have been restored from a collected pile of parts. The motorcycles are custom-made, one at a time, with small detail differences on each bike, so that each one is original.

This allows each owner to have a true “one off” ride, and they will not have to be concerned with seeing its twin stopped at a light next to them on the road.
“We are a boutique company and pay great attention to detail,” says Gary. “The company will remain that way in the years to come.”

3Nails Motorcycle Union Brand operates as a Not For Profit 501 (C) (3) under the umbrella guidance of the Whippany Community Center Corporation; the brand donates its net profits solely to Renovation House.

When you buy a 3Nails product, you are not just getting a righteously cool piece of merchandise; you are also making a difference. We are trusting that when people see our product line, they will purchase, because the merchandise is very desirable and cool and of good quality…. and then getting the ‘warm and fuzzy’ feeling that comes with knowing that their purchase is making a difference in the lives of the men in Renovation House,” says Gary. “It's one of those win-win moments that occur in our lives, from time to time.”

“Everyone at 3Nails has a passion for their individual role in the big picture of the company's duty and function,” continues Gary.

We hope that our friends out there in motorcycle-dom agree and are ready to partner with us in our quest for success. After several years of preparation, the 3Nails brand is now being launched with the bike giveaway promotion.

A donation of $25.00 or more will make you eligible to own the bike that will be given away shortly after the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show in Chicago, on February 21, 2010.

Gary estimates that the bike will be handed over to the new owner in the early spring of 2010; a date has not yet been set.

Donations will be collected at event booths at the New York and Chicago motorcycle shows and on 3Nail's Web site www.ride4rh.org; you can also mail donations to Renovation House Fund/ 3 Nails, 43 South Jefferson Road, Whippany, N.J. 07981.
